I would like to take the time to thank you for your generosity and kindness in funding the Minority/International Student Scholarship. I am honored to be a recipient of this award and continue my education at Sauk Valley Community College.
I am currently a full-time freshman student majoring in Biology, with a 4.0 GPA. I plan on pursing a job in the medical field. My plan is to go to school and come back to Sterling, IL to work at CGH hospital and give back to the community, who has provided me with so much. Along with that, being a person of color, I would like to show the next generation to get an education, achieve your dreams and give back to the people who have supported you along the way. Through my academic achievements, I would like to show this generation just that and you have given me the opportunity to do so.
By awarding me the Minority/International Student Scholarship, you have reduced the financial burden of student loans and I couldn’t be more thankful. Receiving this scholarship pushes me to maintain my GPA and complete not only my bachelor’s, but also my master’s in the hope of becoming a physical therapist or physician’s assistant.
