Brenda has been a member of the Sauk Valley College Foundation since 2015. She has served on the Finance Committee since joining the Foundation and was Chair of the Community Outreach Committee for one year. Brenda currently serves as Chair of the We are the Future Campaign Planning Committee and President of the SVC Foundation.
Brenda’s professional background is in the education field. She taught students with emotional, behavioral and learning needs for seventeen years before entering into administration for ten years with Sterling Schools as Principal of Challand Middle School, and then as Director of Curriculum and Instruction. She then joined a large southwest suburban high school district in Orland Park as Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services for eight years, prior to retirement.
She earned her B.S. in Special Education at Illinois State University and her M.A. in both Special Education and Educational Administration/Leadership from Western Illinois University.
Brenda currently lives in Sterling with her husband whom she met while attending summer classes at Sauk Valley Community College.
